Well hasn’t it been a strange year! Now social distancing is the new norm and face masks are the new trend (and very essential of course) we have also seen a higher demand for outdoor weddings! According to the government guidelines, currently weddings can’t consist of any more than 30 people (including those taking pictures and marrying you!) this is because Covid 19 is thought to be spread via respiratory droplets caused by coughing, sneezing, shouting etc as well as contact with contaminated surfaces! Social distancing must also be maintained with those from different households needing to keep at least 1 meter distance. This has certainly caused a lot of chaos for wedding venues with many having to temporarily close. At Hillside farm weddings we provide a blank canvas for you to build a wedding to your needs and social distancing can be easily achieved. With wedding rules for the future being unknown, outdoor weddings are seeing like a safe bet! Outdoor weddings can be anything from marquees to sail tents and tipis. If the weather allows, sides can be lifted up to create an even more open feel and allowing nervous guests to spread out more. Outdoor seating areas, fire pits, garden games, food vans and woodland areas also help create a good distance for guests to wander around meaning social distancing actually becomes easy and being outdoors automatically decreases your chances of spreading or catching viruses. With the flexibility to build your own wedding here you can literally design it to fit you and your needs and if things change on the way, well that’s ok! You can just adjust as you go along.
